![]() We essentially make distributions, build systems, customized kernels etc. But it's really intended for talking about building CoreBoot on Chromebooks, bugs with it, building it, etc.Ĭase-in-point, the user already copypasta'd his post over there, and someone other than me already said to just read the automod comment.I can't agree. That sub has the best information for this type of thing. 95% of requests there can just be solved by reading the automod link to "Getting started" or their wiki, both linked by the automod when someone does a new post (and on the sidebar). Do note that I'm not talking about THIS subreddit, I'm talking about THAT subreddit. Everyone posting in a forum that already knows the answer forgets that before posters know the answer, even asking questions is hard, and search is basically useless, unless someone who started clueless and learned about it, documents how they learned about it. I posted here to ask about it, and got a bunch of responses, a bunch of which were just calling me stupid or telling me to Google it myself, and a couple of which were useful links to the subject.Īll because I had no idea what the search terms for this thing was. I'd link to my recent discovery that ChromeOS had two complete versions of the OS on the disk so that one could be updated while the other is live. How could anyone find that, unless someone who already knew about it told someone about it? The link to the r/chrultrabook is a perfect example. Most of the time people are having trouble finding answers it is because only the people who already know things know the terms necessary to search for the knowledge they already have. If you do not have the right search terms, you cannot get close to things. People who know things know them, and people who do not know things, do not even know how to sensibly ask questions to get near the answers. That still does not make it accessible to most people. ![]() List of Chrome OS Boards Supporting Crostini (Linux Beta)Įvery question I have about ChromeOS is documented somewhere. ![]() ResourcesĬertified "Works with Chromebook" Accessories ![]() Company Promotionĭo you work for a company who makes ChromeOS devices or accessories?
